FINAL FOR WESTON CUP. Following is a description of tho final match for tho Weston Cup played on the AVaiwakaiho links on I'riday afternoon between Miss Stephenson and Miss Bewley, tho former conceding seven strokes. Miss Stephenson won tho honour and drove a long ball but pulled it out of bounds. Miss Bowley drove a fair ball and was through in 3. Miss Stephenson got a good second off the too and landed her third just on tho green, but both putted badly, halving in 7. Both got good drives and seconds away at tho next. Miss Stephenson topped hor third, but was on in opponent being pin high in 3. Miss Bowley lay her approach putt dead and holed in 3 to 7.—1 up. At the third Miss Stephenson missed an easy putt for a win and tho hole was halved in 4. Miss Bowley won the fourth in 7 and tho fifth was halved in s.—Miss Bewloy 2 up. At tho sixth Miss Stephenson played three nice brassies, landing (her ball on the edge of the green and winning in o. At tho seventh Miss Stenhonson landed on tho green. Miss Bowley was short, but well on in two and with her handicap stroko halved in 4 to 3. — One up, . Both got good drives at the eighth. Miss Steoheusou’s approach was short and hor next ran through. Miss Bcwley was on the green, hut putting weakly the hole was halved in 8. Tho ninth ivas won by Miss Stephenson in C, leaving the players all-squaro at the turn. . After halving the 10th in 4, Miss Stephenson topped her drive at tho 11th, then played her second to the right of the green, was short hi 3 and out in 6. Miss Bowley got a nice ball away, was on in 3, winning in 5.—0n0 ' M iss Bewloy was short at t4io 12tli. Miss Stephenson landed on tho green and holing her putt for a 3 won the hole.—All square. Playing the 13th neither got good drives and both had to play out of the long grass. Miss Stephenson was on in 4, holing in 6 to her opponent’s 8. —Miss Stephenson ono up. At the 14th, Miss Stephenson was just on the edge of the green in -two, and her third lay near tllp hole; Miss Bowley got a very nice approach and a good. fourth, which stymied Miss Stephenson, and the .hole was halved in live. . At the 15th, tho long hole, each got four good brassies and lay at the edge of tho groen in live. Miss Bewloy played a pretty approach, which lipped the hole for a six and won it in seven, Miss Stephenson conceding her a stroko. All square. The 16th was halved in four. At the 17th Miss Stephenson was well on the green in three, Miss Bowley being pin high, slightly- to the right. Her approach was weak, and Miss Stephenson, making no mistake, holed in five to her opponent’s seven, making her dormoy 1. Miss Bewloy sliced her drive at the homo hole, but got a very fine brassio and was level with the stones in three. Miss Stephenson was just short in four and out in seven to Miss Bowlejds eight, halving the hole and leaving Miss Stephenson 1 up.
