On Friday. 20th inst., , for Mr. S. Long's clearing sale there was a good attendance of -buyers. On Thursday, ■201.1 i inst., a very successful sale was held on account of Mrs. I John Reeve. Egmont Village, pfobably the best sale held in this district. There was an excellent attendance of the. public and the dairy herd, tiding well known and in fine condition, sold under brisk competition. A few choice 2-ycar heifers were offered, these selling very readily. Horses, implements and furniture sold 1 at satisfactory prices. Choice dairy cows brought from £l2 os to £l3, host cows close to profit £9 to £ll 10s, backward cows £7 10s to £3 os, averaging £lO 5s for herd, three-quarter cows £4 to £4 los, coloured weaner boilers £2 11s, springing heifers £8 5s to £9 15s. 2-year Jersey bull £5 os, store cows £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, bay gelding £25, hay mare £22 os. aged gelding £l3 10s, stack hay £l3 10s. hack £5 ss, store pigs £l, spring dray £lO, dog-cart £lO 10s, disq harrows £6 10s, Massey drill £lO, mower £ll, Booth plough £4 los. Small lots onlv coming to hand. STRATFORD, Juno 27. On Friday, the 20th inst., wo held our usual fortnightly sale, which was postponed from Tuesday on account of the visit of H.M.S. New Zealand to New Plymouth. There was a small yarding of 50 sheep and 140 cattle, everything excepting three head being disposed of at the hammer or afterwards. The tone of tho market is verymuch firmer, and we qnoto prices as follows:—AVenner steers mixed colours 21s for poor conditioned cattle to 35s for well-grown weaners, weaner heifers showing colour realised from 42s 6d to 61s for a lino of 46 just off turnips and alt well in , to the Jersey, weaner bulls 3Ss to 50s, 20-month empty heifers 63s to 67s 6d, store cows 49s to 79s Gd for good framed cows, forward cows 85s to 97s 6d, aged ewes 7s 6d' to 9s, 4tooth ar-d few f.m. owes in lamb 13s. On Wednesday, the 24th inst., we held our usual monthly sale in our To Wera Yards, when there was a yarding of 90 cattle and 840 sheep, most of the stock being disposed of during the afternoon. Wo quote prices as follows;—Store cows 57s 6d, S7s and 925, 20-month steers 52s 6d to 655, aged ewes 6s 6d to Bs, 2tooth wethers 14s 6d, lambs 9s Id to 9s 9d, rams 6s 2d.
