INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) June 30.—Sir. and Mrs. Martin (of Eltham) had what might well bo called a miraculous escape from serious injury —if not death—horo yesterday (Sunday') morning. Mr. Martin was riding a motor bicycle, to which was attached a side car containing his wife and child. As about DU per cent of motorists do, 'who pass through this place, ho was travelling much too fast to take tho corner in safety, and nob being able to get round in time, the machine crashed into the verandah posts which stand side by side at the junction of Messrs. Rivett and Mastcrg a verandahs. Ono of the posts was carried away and fell between the motor and side car, fortunately without injuring the riders of either. ~ j , The Cadet Bugle Band travelled to Waitara yesterday, accompanied by a number of cadets on bicycles, to take part in a church parade held at that P 'lt°’is reported that there is to he a cadet gymkhana here early in_ the summer. If this is so, it should be an immense success, as Inglewood is very conveniently situated for anything of the sort, tho train service being well timed. Competitors and visitors can arrive from either direction before 10 a.m., and need not leave before 5.30.,
