A SAD CASE.
YOUNG CHILD HANGED. BY HER OWN MOTHER. Per Press AfisociationAUCKLAND, June 27. A woman of about thirty years of i age, named Mrs. Hall, of Warkworth, apparently went out of her mind this afternoon, and killed her daughter Isabel Hall, aged ten years. _ _ Early in tho afternoon Mrs. Hall took her three children, the; girl Isabel and two younger brothers, into the barn, on tho pretence of nlaying a game. She induced the vhree to stand on boxes, and put light ropes round their necks, which she tied to rafters. She then knocked the boxes away, leading the children hanging. The girl Isabel was killed instantly, her neck being broken. The two other children were not materially hurt, ently the mother cut the ropes immediately. A neighbour who was summoned, i found the girl hanging, already dead, and went to procure assistance, when tho mother cut the body down. Mrs. Hall has been placed under arrest, charged with murder, and will be : : brought up at Auckland. .
