A meeting of lads working as wheelel's at Mount Keira decided to ask tho whole of the wheelers on the South Coast to take united action for ' the purpose of securing a reduction of wheelers’ hours from nine to eight daily. This development, corning just when the miners were about to resume work after the strike, has caused disappointment and consternation.. Possibly tire miners will arrange to handle tho coal independent of the wheelers, who are not members of tho union. The strike of carters has ended. The men have agreed to abide by the result of a test case. STRIKERS FEEL THE PINCH. (Received Anril 30, 9.10 a.m.) ’SYDNEY, April 30. Tfie South Const miners are much disappointed at the amount raised for tho support of the strikers, which is only £1309, but there is loud praise for the prompt and substantial assistance, from New Zealand unionists.
