FOK CONTEMPT OF COURT. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received April 30, 9.10 a.in.) PORT DA RAVIN, April 30. Kirkland, editor and proprietor of the Northern Territory Times, has been fined £IOO on charges of tv riling scandal about a judge and prejudicing the public in a case still pending. The alleged contempt "'as contained in an article commenting on a trial in which a public official was nc<|iiiUcd. The article accused the judge of bins. Kirkland refused to pay the fine and was sent to prison. A public subscription was started to realise the amount required to secure his release.
