Mr. Charles Sole, of Oaonui, who purchased the cow Almond 39th (H.B. No. 1626) at the recent Bushy Park Hereford sale received word this morning that the animal was taken suddenly ill after the sale and that despite expert ' attention it died yesterday morning. In order to avoid any misunderstanding in connection with the judging of the district farm products competition at the forthcoming Winter Show the following scale of points has been fixed by the committee of the Agricultural Society:—Arrangement and effect, 25; dairy produce, 25; roots and fodder, 25; grain and grasses, 10; game and poultry, 10; hams and bacon, ID; jams and jellies, 10; sauce and pickles, 5; varieties of timber, 5; bread, cakes and sweets, 10; any novelty in new farm products, 5; fruit and vegetables, 10; honey, 5; preserved fruit and wines, 10; home industries, 10; miscellaneous, 10; total, 185.
