In a speech Representative Sisson -said that if the alternative to the Japanese demand was war or submission, he favoured war. An alien population within the borders of the United States was a continual menace. The only course was to prevent them gaining a hold in the country. Rather than admit Japanese he would spend the last drop of American blood and impoverish the country for a hundred generations. American farmers were unable to live against Japanese competition.
