WASTED ON BOILERMAKERS

Mr. Hill, secretary' of the Boilermakers’ Union, reporting on tho society’s efforts to obtain an advance in wages, stated that the employers’ reply complained that members attending football matches and funerals resulted in a loss of 18.8 per cent, in wages. Many men were averaging £3OO annually. The employers added that every advance had been abused by ill-conduct and bad time-keeping.
