Mr. Carmichael will administer the Labour portfolio, and Mr. Treflo (Minister of Agriculture) will assume the Lands portfolio. TASMANIAN SITUATION CLEARED UP. (Received Dec. 19, 10 a.m.) HOBART, Dec. 19. A compromise has been reached in the political deadlock. The Speaker has withdrawn his resignation, and Mr. Earle’s motion of no confidence was withdrawn on tho Premier’s assurance that Parliament would be dissolved at the end of the session.
