Details have been received of the circumstances of the death of Captain Eckford, who was killed in Persia by Shiraz tribesmen. Captain Eckford’s prrty was emerging from a jungle when it was fired on from the hills. The party pursued the assailants, who numbered 150. Shots were exchanged, when Captain Eckford was shot through the heart. /
