NO SERIOUS DAMAGE. ; Per Press Association. . TIMARU, July 12. The rain cefised about 2 a.m. The total fall at Timaru during this storm was;3.7 inches. A good deal of anxiety ■ was felt at Temuka last night, as: tho river rose to high-flood level and several families hud th remove from their ~ dwellings. In tho low-lying: part of, the, borough the water was over tho rail? ... way line, and a few low lakes formed between: Timaru and Studholmo, but no material damage was done. A good deal of land along the coast is submerged, . all. the ,lagoons being overflowing. Fortunately the, rain wml warm, and stock will not suffer much • by the storm. To-day has been clear and bright. ’ : DUNEDIN, July 12. Tho flood in the Taiori River was 10ft. below the record flood in 1908.
