CURIOUS GAUSS OF DEATH. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, July 12. At the inquest on Joseph Denton, an old man, who died suddenly at Poriawa, .the jury returned a verdict that deceased died from a foreign body, probably a piece of decayed tooth or slwll •from the beach, double the size of a pin's head, which had lodged in tho right lung, causing stoppage of the respiratory process. The jury expressed the opinion, that the foreign matter was probably inhaled while deceased .was employed on the stone crusher. DROWNING ACCIDENT. BLENHEIM, July 12. ‘ A sad case of drowning occurred in Wairau Bay yesterday. Wm. Aldridge and Edward Corlott, both single men, were crossing the b{ir inwards from Point Underwood in an oil launch, and the sea being very rough on tho bar the boat capsized. Both men were drowned. The bodies were washed up on tho beach. v AN OLD MAN’S DEATH. TAURANGA, Julv 11. -An old man named Robert Stewart Horner was found dead in his tent at Maunganui yesterday. At the inquest a verdict was returned that death was due to natural causes. A DETERMINED SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, July 11. A man named John Hancock, 34 years of age,.committed suicide to-ciayy by cutting ins throat with*a razor in a boarding-house in New North Road. Deceased recently .arrived from England. He was a single man, with no relations in the Dominion. He was out of work and consequently depressed. A CASE OF SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, July 12. At the inquest on John Hancock, miner, who was found dead with his throat cut, and a razor alongside him, it was stated that he had 'previously been depressed. A verdict was returned that death was due to a self-inflicted wound.
