She has been delayed on account ol the stormy wea tiler, and w ill sail when this moderates. THE ECHO, The scow Echo, which was damaged at Lyttelton hy an explosion of benzine aboard, is to go on the slip at Wellington ami wall afterwards sail ior New Plymouth and Mokau, loading timber at the latter port lor Wellington. THE RARAWA. Owing to the extreme severity of the southerly gale,' the Rarawa did not arrive lit the Breakwater until after 3 o’clock this morning, and consequently it was deemed advisable to postpone her departure until to-night. She will sail for Oiiehunga after arrival of the express train, and again on Friday. The vessel landed 76 tons of general cargo to-day. UNION COMPANY'S LATEST ADDITION. On April 18, Messrs. Ramago and Ferguson, Ltd., Leith, launched another steel screw cargo steamer of about 1109 tons for the Union Steam Ship Company ol New Zealand, Ltd., Dunedin, New Zealand. She is named the Kannnu, and is 205 ft. in length hy 32ft, beam by 15ft. deep moulded, aiid is intended for the company’s general coasting trade in New Zealand. Built to Lloyd’s highest class with raised quarter deck, bridge deck, long well forward and t.g. forecastle. Steam winches, steam and hand capstan aft, steam windlass, steam steering gear ' are fitted, and also electric light. Triple-expansion engines by the builders have cylinders 17, 27, and 45, by 33in. stroke, supplied with steam from two boilers working at 18011). _ pressure. Tliis is the third steamer built by the builders for the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand. She was named iiy Miss Smith, 13, Laverockhank Terrace, Trinity.
