PAY OF CO-OPERATIVE MEN. Per Press Association. STRATFORD, May 11. The Hons. 11‘Donald and Laurenson. who visited Whangamomona to attend a banquet in honour of Mr. Joseph M'Cluggagej returned to Stratford this morning, going on to Wellington by mail train. Several deputations were received, including one from co-opera-tive workers on river diversion work, complaining that they could only earn six shillings per day, and asking redress. Opinions were expressed that men working in the back blocks on railway' work were the worst paid in New Zealand. Both Ministers promised to go into the matter fully.
