The Park Lawn Tennis Chib’s annual social, held in the Brougham Street Hall last night, was an unqualified success from every standpoint. The committee of- this enterprising club had worked hard towards the success of the function, and their efforts were well rewarded. Miss K. Bennett provided the music for the first half of the dance, and Mrs. Wood for the second, extras being played by Misses A. Smith and D. Leitch, and Miss I. Gilbert and Messrs. F. Hooker and W. Ainsworth contributed musical items. Messrs. G Carter and F. Asher were M.C.’s, and successfully carried out the arduous duty of looking after about SO couples. The supper and decorating of the tables and the room had received special attention, and great credit is due to the committee for the success attained. The club’s funds should benefit very considerably from this year’s social. Horrocksee’ flannelettes are the best, Bays Morey and Son’s replace announoeinent.
