It was tendered in 1911, but postponed for various reasons, including the coronation of King George. The Count was German Ambassador in London. [There has been a strong feeling in Germany that the Gorman Ambassador had failed to keep his Government acquainted with the state of opinion in England. This led to some misapprehension as to the action likely to be taken by Britain at the time of the Morocco crisis, and contributed to the rebuff with German diplomacy received.]
