Tho Federal Crown Law Office has issued a summons against Mr. Knox, in respect of his refusal to answer questions at tho Sugar Commission.

Peacock, a jam manufacturer, publishes a statement which ho handed to the Sugar Commission, but which was not allowed to be road, covering the position of manufacturers and fruit growers with regard to tho industry. Ho claims that the solution of tho whole sugar difficulty lies in tho direction of no import or excise duties on white grown sugars, with a direct bonus paid to cane growers. Tho result would be that, as in Now Zealand, sugar would be sold in Australia at the world’s prices.
