A STRATFORD MAN.

SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) FEILDING, May 9. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day James Hodge, agent of Stratford, was sentenced to 30 days’ imprisonment in New Plymouth Gaol for having disobeyed an order of the court for maintenance of his illegitimate child and the non-payment of arrears amounting to £ll 18s, defendant to be released if arrears are paid. Mr. Ongley, counsel for plaintiff, stated that defendant had taken, no notice of the order and in reply to the bench he said that he understood defendant had a house, land and property in Strafford.
