NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB.
On the Nga Motu links on Saturday afternoon the first medal competition for the St. Andrew's Cross and Olub It lit toil was played by members with handicaps of 12 and under. Tho winner proved to be'E. S. Uayley, with the good score of 79 net. Tho best scores were:—.
At the same time n medal handicap for players .with handicaps of over 12 was played, J. Johnston winning very easily with the lino score of 87—17—70. In the play-off tor the medal handicap plavcd on April 20, A. Bewloy won from V'. Elliott and K. A Gray. On Saturday the greens rolled out very nicely, tint the westerly showers which fell during the afternoon rather interfered with play. The last two medal handicaps at Nga Motu go to prove the success of the system of handicapping introduced two seasons haok. AV ith a bogey of 80 the winning scores should bo 80 or under.
