BRITAIN ACQUIRING AN INTEREST. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received May 4, 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 3. In the House of Commons, Mr. Asquith, in reply to Mr. Mason, said the Government was negotiating with tho Porte in respect to British participation in the Bagdad-Basra railway, in return for compensation elsewhere. They had bought out others interested In that section of the line, subject to conditions regarding German participation.
