The Government had gone to unwarrantable lengths. What the Senate sought to know could be ascertained in a few hours.

THE BANDMASTER’S BODY. (Received May 3, 1.10 p.m.) HALIFAX, May 2. The body of Hartley, bandmaster of the Titanic, has been recovered. His music case was strapped round his body.
