WEDDING.

POWELL—WICKHAM. A wedding was solemnized at the Whiteley Memorial Church on April 18, between Isabella, second daughter of the late Philip Wickham and .Mrs. P. Wickham, Old Plospital Road, New Plymouth, and .Mr. P. A. Powell, second soil ol' Mr. 0. Powell, ol Stutton, Ipswich, England. The ceremony was performed by tile Rev. J. W. Burton. The bride, who was given away by her mother, wore a gown of ivory silk, trimmed witn silk lace insertion, ami fine tucks. with a richly handemhroided veil over a coronet of orange blossoms, ami carried a shower bouquet of white 'chrysanthemums, cosmens, and asparagus fern. .She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister, who More a pale bhte silk frock trimmed with silver braid, and cream lace, hat of crinoline straw trimmed with lace and white, lilac, and her cousin, Miss Mackey, of Stratford, who wore q pale bine silk frock trimmed with cream silk fringe, black picture hat, with white feathers and blue silk. Both wore gold lockets and chains, gifts of the bridegroom, and carried bouquets of autumn flowers and foliage. The bride's mother was attired in a black merv silk dress, trimmed with gold braid; bonnet of black crinoline straw, trimmed with tide and relieved with white; ami carried a sheaf of autumn flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. E. A. Elgar, of Hastings, as best man, and Mr. R. Gordge. oi Pogeltown, as groomsman. Miss M. Gunnell ably presided at the organ and played the Wedding March us the happy couple left the church. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Hygienic Tea Rooms, where a party of friends were entertained by the mother of the bride. The bride and bridegroom .were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents, and a number of congratulatory telegrams were received during the day, Mr. and Mrs. Powell departed by the 4.20 train amid showers of confeti and good wishes for their future home at Krimley, Hastings. The bride's going away dress was a navy blue tailormade costume with hat to match, and set of brown bear-skin furs."
