ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Per Press Association.- 1 DUNEDIN, April 22. A telegram received by the police states that Mrs. Morris, a resident of Sawyers Bay, attempted to commit “suicide at Mataura on Monday. No further particulars aro available. A SHOOTING FATALITY. WELLINGTON, April 22. An old man named .John, Crawford, for several years engaged in the cjolc trade at Gore, was found this morning near Otamita. with a bullet wound in the head. He was removed to the hospital, but succumbed an hour later.’ A repeating rifle was lying beside the body and there was "a small box of bullets in his pocket. An inquest will be held.
