Private advice received in Wellington records the death at Nelson of Henri Matenga Waipunaahau, a distinguished chief, husband of Huria Matenga, New Zealand’s Grace Darling.
A London cablegram states that Miss Van Staveren, daughter of the New Zealand chief rabbi, made her London debut at the opening performance of “Parmen” at Coveht Garden. The Moa Road Board on Saturday passed a vote of sympathy to Mrs. Morgan and her family in their bereavement through the death of Mr. Morgan, who had formerly been a member of the board.
