HOMING NEWS. The Now Plymouth Past Flying Club decided threo events during the past week,, the first, flown on Thursday last, being a flock race from Aramoho, 83 miles distant, in which 38 birds, representing 13 lofts, participated. The result was as follows; L. Whitaker’s Sweet Seventeen, 2hr. Somin., 1; 11. J. Moverley’s bird, and AV. Kisby’s Kia Ora, 3hr. 9mm., 2; T. Ray's Forty, 3br. llmiu., 3. The second race, flown on Saturday last from Waverley, was confined to late-bred birds. Sixty-eight were entered for tho event, representing 15 lofts. The weather Was adverse to fast times being recorded, but the winning bird showed a desire to distance all others. The placed birds were: W. Kisby’s St. Elmo, 2hr. 20min., 1; H. J. Movorloy’s Patience, 2hr. 27J min., 2; D. .Murphy’s Blue Bell, 2hr. 28rain., 3; F. James’ Twenty, 2hr. 28imin., 4. Tire' third event, in which a great deal of interest was evinced by the members of tho club, took the form of an interval race from Wanganui on Monday. Unfortunately the bad weather that had set in mitigated against fast times being recorded, and of tho sixteen members taking part only eight reported birds home on the day of race. Several of tho others arrival the following morning. Under tho existing circumstances tho winner put up a good performance. The first four to home were; AV. Kisby’s Cloudy Morn, 3br. 3Smin., 1; T. Ray’s Silvery Moon, 4br. 47min., 2; D. Murphy’s Wapiti, ohr. 35rnin., 3; R. Tanner’s Moon Beam, 7hr. 21min., 4. The thanks of the club are due to Mr. J. Montgomerie for liberating the,, birds at intervals of ten minutes as instructed.
