COLD MINING.

The Talisman Consolidated Gold Mining Company’s return for March was .£20,691 trom 4000 tons of ore treated. In March last rear 4300 tons yielded £18,472. A Bathurst telegram in the Sydney Morning Herald says, it is learned on (ho best local authority that some important developments have taken place in connection with the Hawkins Hill mine at Hill End. The developments are said to be of the most encouraging nature, and the local representative of the company, H. C. Slade, hinted Pthat Hill End was going to make Bathurst.” A later message stated that a reef 14it. wide and averaging 2oz. of gold to the ton had been discovered.
