SUGGESTIONS TO NEW MINISTER. Per Press Association. NAPIER, April 10. Mr. J. V, Brown, M.P., interviewed the lion. Mr. MacDonald, Minister for Public AVorks, on the latter passing through Napier yesterday, to urge greater expedition in the prosecution of the work on the East Coast railway, AO- Brown pointed out that at the pr-suvt rate of progress it would pubably bo ten years before the first section would bo completed. The Minister promised his attention. Mr. Brown also urged the necessity for speeding up the express train from Napier to Wellington by cutting out small, stopping places. Air. MacDonald said th■■ i- be Kcounised the need *nr this The member for Napier informed a reporter , as an example of the slowness of the train, that he had come down in his car and left it at the station just as the train was leaving, and when lie arrived in Hastings the ear was waiting for-him.
