At Hawera on Saturday tho local club played Pihama Club m the semifinal of tho banner competition. An interesting match resulted in a win toy Hawera by the narrow margin of 5 points. The following are tho scores, Pihama names being mentioned first; —Pohe, Julian, Edwards, W. Lambio (sk.). 24; v. J. Hicks, Keen, Parringtou, J. Foy (sk.), 15. Baylis, Riley, R. Lambio, Mason (sk.), 13; v. G. Syme, Crabb, Curtis, R. Kicks (sk.), 24; v. Campbell, Harnip, Mach ray, Conaglon (sk*.), 15; v. Reilly, Barnett, Rev. Shore, W. Robertson (sk.), 18, Totals: Pihama 52, Hawera 57. Tho final will be played at Stratford between Hawera and New Plymouth, probably on Wednesday next. The following will represent Hawera:—J.
