The Press acknowledges its error in stating that the Messrs. Bollard senior and junior furnish the first example in New Zealand of father and son sitting together in the same Parliament. The late Mr. William Hutchison, who represented Dunedin, and his son, Mr. G. Hutchison, who unsuccessfully contested Wanganui in the late election, were co-members of the House of Representatives from 1890 to 1896. While the late Sir Frederick "Whitaker was a member of the Legislative Council, his son, Mr. F. A. Whitaker, sat for Waipa in the House of Representatives.
