The following are the final payments for tho Manawatn Cup, of 500 sues., Ij miles;—Merrivonia 8.10, Abcrbrothock 8.9, Martino 7.13, Espartero 7.12, To Puia 7.11. Rauparuha and Sir Antrim 7.9, Birkline 7.3, Goodwin Park 7.2, Iney and Miscal (i. 12, Gold Circle 6.11, Waipaku and Brown Trout G.lO. METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. Tho Metropolitan Committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met on Tuesday evening. Present: Mr. Lepper (in the chair), Messrs. Thomson, King, Alexander, Orboll, Webster, Weston, Nolan, Elliott, Blundell and ,Standish. Trainers’ licenses were granted to W T . Elliot ami F. E. Fnggle. A jockey’s license was granted to James Kruse. Gentlemen riders' licenses were granted to Dr. T. L. Paget, Messrs. A. Mitchell, W. F, Tattersall and F. Aubrey. Tho programme for the Opunake Racing Club’s meeting for March 18 was approved. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. Subsequently tho T.J.C. committee met, the same members attending. The following correspondence was read:—From E. Whittle in reference to alteration of bar at publican’s booth. —The matter will be discussed after the Christmas meeting. From 11. Grevillc in reference to Hutchison's patent jockey scales.—Mr. Grcvlllo will be advised that there is no objection to the erection of the scales for inspection at the February meeting. Two new members, Messrs. Frans Marsh and W. Kmeny, were elected. Two resignations were accepted. Accounts totalling £33 8s were pas-i.d for payment. The secretary reported that the sil-mt totalisatur had been completed and erected by Messrs. Turnbull and Jones, and that'be bad engaged the necessary staff to run it for the Christinas meeting. lie had engaged a private detective, and the club would strictly enforce the resolution not to allow undesirables on the club’s property. It was decided not to issue passes out from fhe lawn enclosure to youths and children.

A supply of chairs had been purchased for the luncheon and afternoon tea rooms, and an afternoon tea tent arranged for on the. lawn. The secretary reported everything in order for the Christmas meeting, and given fine weather tlie gathering should be one o( the most successful yet licit! by the club. The usual special trains will rim to serve the forthcoming meeting to take place next Tuesday and Wednesday.
