FITZROY SCHOOL.
On Friday last at Fitzroy more than ‘ usual interest was evinced in the marriage ceremony ol Lady Hopewell and Lord Lovell, a special license haring been procured so that the ceremony might take place at night time. .-i reception was alier.rurds held in the Castle Hall, at which hundreds of guests were present, in a neat little speech 1-ord Hopewell proposed the health of bride anti gridegromu, which was drunk amid loud acclamations in bumpers of ruspberryadc. Lord Lovell suitablv responded. The Castle Hall had been prettily decorated with festoons of white flowers, a large floral bell banging oyer the bride's seat. These, together with the armorial bearings, formed a very picturesque sight. A special leaiuro iyas the immense wedding cake supplied by the celebrated firm of Pearce ami Co., purveyors to his Excellency the Governor. The ball which followed was opened by the nodding march, led by_ the bride and bridegroom. As a tribute of respect to Lord and Lady Lovell the local school-children submitted a programme of vocal and instrumental music and recitations, all the items being vociferously received. Among the guests were tho Fairy Queen and her fairies, Boreas. Zephyr, Occidous and Orieus. who sang several selections very prettily, the May Queen and her attendants, Lady Wideawake, Lady Pridoan, Lord George, Lord Claypolo’ and representatives of every family in the district. The far-famed jester Signor Keitlio Jaeksonio. by his merry quips and cranks, contributed iu no small measure to the merrymaking. A discription of the dresses will duly appear in the Lady's Realm, a special reporter having been engaged for the occasion.
