In the Cnmtcsse Domain blackmail case at Bow Street evidence was given that Glcndening and Page demanded £IOOO, which was evoiuuailv reduced to £4OO. Cross-examining the Cnmtesse, counsel asked if O'Connor was a very impecunious man. The C'omtcsso replied that he had £3500 a year- when she first knew him. He might have part ol tiiat now. The magistrate later intervened and said the whole cross-examination was directed to throwing mud. Counsel angrily dissented, and a scone ensued. The magistrate ordered an adjournment. A HUSBAND OFFERED. (Received Dec. 18, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. The Comtesse Domain, in cross-ex-amination. declared that Dohbio wished her to marry him, and settle £SOO a year on him.
