Noil Primrose, M.P., sharply attacked Xxtrd Lorebnrn in connection with the appointment of magistrates. The Premier replied that before the Royal Commission there had been appointed 2758 Liberals, 864 Conservatives and 1733 whose politics were unknown. Since the commission had been appointed, men were nominated by advisory committees. A resolution approving Lord Loreburn’s action was carried by 131 to 39. LABOUR LEADER’S VIEWS. The Grand Master of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows said that if it became an approved society under the Insurance Bill he believed the result would be a prosperous future. The Chairman of the National Deposit Society raid that, while preferring to be left unfettered by tho Insurance Bill, it was as good as could be expected under the circumstances.
