Sir, —1 was present at the petroleum meeting on Thursday, and, while expressing my deepest gratification that cur long delayed hopes are at last on the eve of consummation, it seemed to me that as the meeting touched on so many subjects past and present in connection with the industry, it surely was
an oversight that no reference was made to Air. "Watkins, to whose indefatigable energy and zeal we owe the ventilation of what was practically a dying interest in our oilfields. —I am, etc., A "WOMAN SHAREHOLDER.
