The second trial of Dr. Hyde for the murder of Colonel Thomas Swopo by poisoning ended in a mistrial. A juror escaped, and when captured was found to be insane. The jury was then discharged, The case excited tremendous interest. Dr. Hyde being the medical attendant of Colonel Swope.
