GREi'MOUTH, Nov. 15. The manager of the local branch of the Union Company received a letter from the Waterside Womens’ Union demanding tb ■ removal of one oi the company's iorev i n. The manager asked that a dcput-ifu.n be appointed to wait on him, which was agreed to. It was reported that a meeting of the union will be held to discuss the proposal made. There is every likelihood of satisfactory arrangements being made. CHARGE OF THEFT. CARTERTON, Nov. 16. In the Magistrate’s Court before justices, Samuel Keats was charged with the theft of a silver watch, gold ring and articles of clothing valued at £l2 from his mate, named William Davis. Both had been employed at the Admiral Run, Gladstone. Accused, who was about 21 years of age, was remanded to appear on the 22nd. Bail was not asked for.
