MILK CARTER'S WAGES.

Before the Industrial Court application was made to alter the award which fixed milk carters’ wages at 7s a day, on the grounds of the enormously increased rente and the higher cost of living. . , . , . Judge Scholes, in reserving his decision, questioned if he were justified in altering the award, owing to the effect it would have on trade conditions generally, but 7s 6d a day was a wage below which workmen should not be expected to go.
