Twcastrikers were sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment for participating in looting during tho Liverpool railway strike. A railway porter received eight months’ imprisonment for tampering with the points during the strike at Clydach. FEDERATION OF UNIONS. LONDON. Nov. 15. LordtQaude Hamilton, in a letter to the press,, urges the repeal of the Trades Disputes Act. The anions no longer confined their activities to their own particular industries. They were endeavouring to create a federation which, .under the present law, would paralyse-itrade communications and food supplies, threatening tho nation’s existence. Lord Hamilton has accepted the presidency of the newly-formed Trades Disputes. Act Reform League. MINERS’ WAGES. (Renewed Nov. 16, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, Nor. 15. The Miners’ Federation conference has adjourned pending further negotiations and the result of tho Conciliation Board’s meeting in December.
