The Bishop of Sodor and Man has been transferred to the Bishopric of Ripen.

Morton, who has been connected with the local telegraph oitico for the past five years, and whose departure from Now Plymouth will be regretted by a wide circle of friends, was on 'Tuesday the recipient of an entree dish and silver cnret,_ the occasion being his transfer to Napier and his recent marriage. Tho presentation was made by the Chief Mr, Dryclen, and complimentary speeches were also made by Messrs. Harle, Fookes, and Eberlet. Mr. Morton leaves on Friday, for Napier, his successor her© being Air. Clinch, of Palmerston North.

.At the Grey town Vicarage on Monday evening a very pleasing function took place, when Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hare were entertained at a social gathering of church members and adherents, the occasion being a valedictory one, as the guests of the evening are about to leave for fresh fields and new pastures near New Plymouth. The local paper says a very pleasant evening was spent by those present. At a suitable moment the vicar, on behalf of the congregation of St. Luke’s, asked Airs. Hare to accept ns a token ol her long connection with the choir a gold-molint-ed greenstone cross, and in making the presentation wished Air. and Airs. Hare and family, who leave Greytown this week, will take with them the hearty gor.d wishes of the whole community, among whom they have lived for tho past 30 years.
