At a banquet to the Governor at Broken Hill it was stated that tho income of Broken Hill mines was four millions a year. The lead production was nearly a quarter of tho world’s output, and there were sufficient reserves of ore to carry on for nine years without further mining. In twentyfive years twenty-five million tons of ore had been mined.
