CHAMPION AWARDS. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Oct. 18. Tho annual show ol the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society was opened at Hastings to-day. The weather was delightfully fine, but a strong southerly raised diseumlofung dust. The entries in nearly every class showed an increase on last year, and the crowds of tanners present gave solid proof unit tho seitlement ol Hawke's Bay is p:ogre*sing apace, Tne lavourable spring ©named bieeders to keep their slock in excellent condition, and exhibits this year maintained the former high standard oi tho show. In the horse section and ail departments oi the cattie section the splendid compel itiou and undoubted quality were outstanding icaLuns. K is, however, in sheep classes that tinHawke's Bay show takes the lead, ami jji Uitse the entries were more mimervui;than in any previous siiow.
