FOREST FIRES.
PULP MILLS THREATENED. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland), Ang. 27. An immense forest fire is threatening the pulp mills in the Exploit River district. The workmen employed, by the Uarmsworth mills, which supply the Daily Mail with paper, are firefighting. A huge area of the country is threatened. The wind veering saved the pulp mills at Bishop’s Falls, but enormous destruction was done to forest wealth.
