ENTERTAINMENTS.
BIOGRAPH PICTURES. The pictures screened at the Theatre Rojal to-night will be an entirely new selection. Included in the programme is the great temperance drama, “Ten Nights in a Bar Room,” specially dramatised for the Kiuematograph. Of this picture one writer said: “It is a picture which effectively preaches temperance. A picture to cause good resolutions, and more far-reaching in its influence than 10,000 serihpns. ‘Ten Nights 'in a Bar Room’ is an eloquent and silent appeal to one’s better self.’ 1 In addition to this star will be screened “Miraculous Recovery,” “The Rough Rider’s Romance,” “For the Sunday Edition,” “Star Dramas.” The scenic •include “Tiny AYater'Dwellers,” “River Moskwa,” and a finely Coloured scenic, “Shooting Rapids in 'Japan.” The comics are arranged from “Tweedledum as Detective,” “Tommy Gets n trumpet,” “Tontolihi is -Sad>“ and “Tweedledum’s Trials as a Policeman.” This series will be shown to-night and to-morrow night. On Saturday afternoon there will be a children’s matinee, When all school children under fourteen years of age will be admitted for threepence. SKATING. On Monday the Glide-away Roller Skating Rink will re-open its season. The pastime has greatly caught on in New Plymouth, and the spell occasioned by the Winter jßhow will doubtless have little effeqt on! the attendance. The proprietors'' have this week purchased more new skates personally in Auckland; so as to provide for a larger number of patrons. Providing everything can bo cleared in time, the rink will be open to the public next Monday afternoon.
