FOUND DROWNED.
DEATH OF ME. 6. G. BOULTON. A sensation was caused in New Plymouth this morning, when it wna learned that Mr. George Godfrey Bouh ton, the well-known storekeeper and tobacconist, of Devon Street East, had been found drowned in the Henui River. Mr. Boulton had been missing since yesterday morning; having last seen at 10 o'clock. As the day lengthened and he did not return Jv-me, his family naturally became anxious, and search parties were organised. Shortly before 9 o’clock this morning, ■ a Mr. Shaw, a son-in-law to deceased, . came across Mr. Boulton's Indy m* the Henui River. • The police were* notified, and , Constables ' Egan and Liston >at once went to the' spot with *. a stretcher. The body was !*?ing face .downwards in about four feet of water, beneath" a cliff 'near the It was fully dressed, with the exception of a hat. Deceased’s .watch had! stopped at seven minutes past 2. The spot in which the body was f; mad was the deepest part, of the river at that place. The constables, iiftlmgh assisted by several civilians, had a vv’-y difficult task in getting the body to the of the bank. It was then removed to the morgue. Deceuad livi been ill and somewhat melancholy r several days. He leaves a Urge family all grown-up. He was 65 years old, - And had resided in New Plymouth 'for many years. An inquvst will be held. ,
