NEW "WORKSHOPS. The of the above wellknown furnishing establishment are now located in the firm’s new workshop at Dc<on Street East. The building is one of two storeys, constructed of reinforced concrete, is well lighted and airy, and provides a total floor space of iiUlt. by 46ft. The ground Boor is occupied* chiefly by the machinery. Hero a decided improvement is noticed, the whole of tho shafting being carried underground, thus affording much more room and at tho same time doing away with all risk** so far as accidents arc concerned. A considerable quantity of new plant has been added, including a specially constructed machine whereby overv scrap of dust is eliminated from tlie Isopoc, and from "which it is transferred to tho bedding, etc., so that after treatment it is not exposed in any way to the dust which natprnlly arises in tho workroom. The second floor is divided into throe compartments. That in the centre is occupied by cabinetmakers and the others by tho upholsterers and polishers respectively. Each is specially fitted up in tho most up-to-date method. Fourteen hands are now employed in this rapidly-growing business, and with tho improved conditions and also tho modern appliances that have been installed tho men will bo able to turn out even bettor work khan that which has been the means of building up tho business of tho Red Rost in tho past.
