MOKAU JONES’ ESTATE. Per Press Anscciatior. TE KUITI, March 23. The Native Land Court held a special sitting yesterday to deal with the Mo-kau-Moliakatino block commonly known as the Mokau Jones’ estate. Judge Holland presiding, A settlement was reached on the following terms:—Tho Natives to receive £25,000 in cash and retain an interest of £2.500 in the company being formed to develop the block. A LIBEL ACTION. ASHBURTON, March 23. The Ashburton Mail and Guardian Company was to-day served by C. W. Nicoll with a writ claiming £5Ol damages for alleged libel in a letter signed “Ratepayer” which appeared in the Guardian last month. THE DIVORCE COURT. WELLINGTON, March 23. To-day the Chief Justice granted a decree nisi in tho case Ernest Henry Livermore y. Sarah Livermore, husband’s petition on tho ground of misconduct.
