THE WELLINGTON FIRE.
The Wellington Fire. A BODY IDENTIFIED. Per Press Association. ' WELLINGTON, Jan. 4. This morning the police found a notebook and cash amounting to £1 2s Bd, which belonged to the man Patrick Meban, who was burnt to death in the fire at Wellesley boafding-houso on Tuesday morning. *The book was lying near the head of Mohan’*; bed. There was also an envelope, which indicated that n letter had been posted to the deceased from Carnlongh, Ireland, on July 3,1909, addressed, “Mr. Patrick Mehan. care of Mr. J. Craig, Kivorsdnle. Ahum, Grevmouth.” Ibis,letter bon l the mark of the Groymoulh Post Office, dated August 19 last. Amongst others, there was an entry, “Andrew M‘Unlock, Lyall Bay. Mnranui, New Zealand.’’ The Ikxlv lias been definitely identified by Mr. M‘Lintock, f of Marnnui, as that of Patrick Mebnn. Moban was only 21 years of age, ami lie came from Drunsmough, Carmough, Ireland, whore ho went to school with M'L'ntoek, in whose company he was on Sunday. Jackson, the lessee of the premises destroyed, had Ids fittings insured in the Yorkshire Office- for £390. and Mrs. Jackson had her personal property insured in the same office for £IOO.
