AMERICA TO BE TAPPED. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Jan. 5, 8.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Jan. 5. The Commonwealth. Government is negotiating with the Union Company for a reduction of fares from America to Australia during March and April to £25, with a view to attracting American and Canadian settlers. If the negotiations are successful it is proposed to advertise Australia largely in America.
