A ship, bird, submarine, and a dirigible all inherit or have a tendency to keep right side up. hut the aeroplane has nothing of the kind, and turns turtle on the slightest provocation. The problem of equilibrium must he solved after much laborious scientific investigation of each of its component problems before the aeroplane can rank as a scientific machine. PILOTS’ CERTIFICATES.
